Kat & Dave | Lower Blue Mountains

When Kat first contacted me to ask about the potential of us photographing her marriage to Dave, she played it down; “Oh we’re just getting married in the lower Blue Mountains at this new venue called Fernhill Estate..do you want to come along?”. She conveniently forgot to mention the bit where not only is Fernhill Estate a brand-new, absolutely freakin’ incredible wedding venue (!), but also that she’s a wedding stylist (!!) – a big deal to the person who was going to be shooting her wedding. She was going to be styling her reception, had planned to put lollies in her bridesmaids bouquets, and had covered her shoes in hundreds and thousands. Yeah, the chocolate kind…!!! Needless to say a few weeks later when she, Dave and I met up for a coffee, we got along like a house on fire.

Their wedding day a few months later was incredible; full of quaint intricacies that represented them both perfectly, along with the laid-back vibe and cheeky spirit of their relationship in every detail (check out that dinner booklet!). Held in Autumn when the days are a little cooler and the trees turning, we were lucky enough to have some beautiful colour for our location shoot, which lead perfectly into her immaculately styled reception. Here’s what Kat had to say afterwards:

From the moment we met with Tristan to discuss our upcoming wedding, we knew we had our wedding photographer! We had met and emailed numerous other photographers, but Tristan was so friendly, professional and oozed enthusiasm for both weddings and photography as an art form – we knew we had to have him a part of our day. The two photographers on the day we perfect, they got along with everyone (very important to us) and shot everything we wanted without any sort of delay. Dave and I were relaxed and at ease, knowing Tristan had everything covered! Our photos and album were also beyond incredible! We’re continually able to show friends and family who are blown away with the detail and thoughtfulness put into every image. As I have worked in weddings and events for over 3 years, I hear stories of couples being disappointed or having regret with their photographers, I am relieved we found someone as talented and as genuine as Tristan. I strongly recommend him to any and all clients, as I know they will be in very safe and capable hands.”
