South Coast Wedding Photography

The Ralph Family | South Coast

One of the great things about being a wedding photographer is seeing two people form a bond that lasts a lifetime. Usually this happens long before the wedding itself, but on the day it becomes formal; the world, from then on, knows these two people as one. What’s even greater, however, is when I get to see those two people add another member to their crew, and become a family…

Take, for example, Alex and Tim here. Two good friends of ours who’s Coogee Beach wedding I photographed back in 2013, and who, a few months ago brought a beautiful baby boy into the world - Finn. During October, Alex, Tim (and Finn) invited Giuliana and I down the coast for the weekend, and the couple we once got to know before their wedding became the family we shared stories and laughs with over dinner and drinks, and had a long, early morning walk on the beach with the following day.

Naturally, the camera came with me. And what follows is the story of Finn Ralph’s first touch of the ocean…

Samantha & Dinesh | Bingie, South Coast, NSW

I've been saving this wedding up for a little while now. You see, it's special to means a lot. Dinesh and I went to school together for 5 years, spent weekends riding our bikes together, creating the moments and memories I look back on so fondly. So to see him marry Samantha, someone so full of life and love - not to mention brains - 8 years later made me so immensely happy I wasn't sure if my photos would be enough.

Both Sam and Dinesh's families, I quickly learned while down the coast for their wedding, share so much energy, so much of a bond, so much laughter and tangible love that without knowing how quickly it would happen, I was brought in and treated like one of their own. And then I realised, that's exactly where they get it from; where they get their love, affection and dedication to one another is their family. It was so special to be a part of.

Sam and Dinesh were married at The Priory at Bingie on the South Coast of New South Wales, near Tuross Head. It was amazing...
